And just like that it is 2026 fam!

Hi ya Pals! Long time but what's new?!

Sometimes it's hard to pick things back up when you put them down for so long. Imposter syndrome can weigh heavy and you decide to put it down for way longer than intended! Yep..that's me....Marlee. 1000000% way too guilty of this but working on it. And here we are so hello friend! I'm sure, just like our lives, yours has changed up quite a bit since we last chatted back in 2023, yeah? So let's get into it! Obviously this will be one sided so feel free to email back your life updates; we can be penpals! 😉

Hmmmmm.......where to begin?!

It has offically been a little over three years since my health diagnosis and eleven years for G's diagnosis. Crazy how time flies. Overall, we are both doing great! G has been in remission (ulcerative colitis) for five years now! I have had over ten, clean brain scans so far and all is well there too. Slight hiccup in between once trying to come off meds, but we are all good still! If you have no earthly idea what I am even talking about...inserting older blogs about us here for when you want to dive into that world! (W E L C O M E |...but are we really back yet? ) I could go more into our health journeys thus far but that'll be for another day....or year at the rate I create blogs, whoops.

If it's not one it's the other though with health issues here in our pak. We seem to all be competitive when it comes to that, dogs included! Not only are we getting older, so are the dogs unfortunately. Personally, it should be against the law for them to age I think. Seeing them get older hurts. Not to compare humans to dogs, but you know how it hurts watching family get older; well let's just say dogs become family too. Bailey and Shadow are our kids. We've had them both since they were 8 weeks old. We have truly watched them grow from puppies to now senior doggos. Bailey will be 15 next month. Shadow will be 13 this year. Boof, if it isn't hard to see the change. More potty breaks, more waterproof blankets + rugs around, more naps, less mileage/elevation gain on walks/hikes, and then there are the health issues. Aging isn't easy on them either.

Bailey is practically a 93 year old woman in our home, but acts like a teenager with a tude. She is Queen Diva. Her wishes (whines) are our demands. As of late, her issues have mostly been minor, but you can tell her little back end isn't keeping up with her mind anymore. She needs more assistance these days, but she is hanging strong!! Then ole Shadow boy. Basically in his 70s, realizing sometimes his body doesn't keep up with his demands. We had a scare with him last year, but got that handled to where he actually is acting more young than he was there for a minute. Shadow ended up having a benign tumor on his one of his parathyroid glands that caused his blood calcium levels to sky rocket. This was a hidden problem that was quick to hit and to take down our boy. After many tests, vet appointments, exams, bloodwork, it led to surgery to remove this intrusive node. Since, knock on wood, we feel like we see our happy husky boy again! One that can do stairs without collapsing, can run freely without his back legs giving out mid run. For a minute there, we felt like we were running a nursing home for dogs. Many restless nights and days until figuring out what works best for all. We seemed to have found our new norm!

In between all the chaos, we have been exploring our hearts out with these two pups!!! Soaking in them (and the views) all we can! Pretty sure they take in the views just as much, if not more, than us. Bailey on hikes will plop and just look out off a mountain while she rests. She's probably actually thinking, "why are we here? and where is my bed?" mostly but from my eyes, she looks cute and very observant of her surroundings! Shadow's senses are always on fire. He is smelling and loving every scent of it. He makes the silliest of faces hanging his big ole head out of the car. He's the one leading our pak but making sure he marks the way there and back just in case we get lost. I think in the last two years, we have all been to 20+ states from road tripping. We've gotten to enjoy friends + family in different places. Bonus, that Garitt + I have gotten to explore a four countries with my in laws! SO many adventures, stories, house renos, videos + photographs that are our precious time capsules now....I ask again, where to begin?!

Enjoy just a little peek into a small collection of photos over the years. This is just a slow intro back into things! I know I always say this, but it slightly feels different this time. Big dreams are manifesting over here at the Pak household!!!

Wishing you ALL the best in 2026! Thanks for being here! Feel free to reach out to us if you want to catch up more!

Stay wild Pak friends!

Peace + Love
